Bio for Michael Collins

I first started in EMS in 1977, as an EMT in Yonkers, NY at night. Moving to California in 1979, I was not involved in EMS work for the next 25 years, other than basic First Aid classes. Retiring from high-rise construction in San Francisco in 2004 , I moved back East with my wife to be closer to our families.

We had not even bought a house yet, and I was already signed up for an EMT-B class in Newtown. Now an EMT-I, I volunteer in Newtown, and work for both Danbury Ambulance and Vintech in Brookfield/New Milford. Working to achieve Paramedic credentials is a daunting endeavor, but it is something I have always wanted, and I am willing to work long and hard to get it.
